Introduction of Emei Martial Arts

Part One: Historical Origin of Emei Martial Arts

Emei Martial Arts is a general term for martial arts originating in the Emei Mountain area of Sichuan Province and widely popular throughout Sichuan and even Southwest China. It originated from Emei Mountain, boasting more than 80 schools and hundreds of boxing styles, and is regarded as one of the three major schools of Chinese martial arts. By integrating with the Buddhist, Taoist, and Confucian cultures of Emei Mountain, Emei Martial Arts has promoted its own development. It emphasizes the integration of hardness and softness, internal and external cultivation, with movements that seem fast yet slow, alternating between speed and slowness, and combining hardness with softness.

Philosophy

Emei Martial Arts upholds the philosophy of "Virtue first, martial arts supplementary", believing that martial virtue is more important than martial skills themselves. Practitioners must possess noble moral qualities and good behavioral habits to achieve the unity of personal and social values. It combines with fostering a sunny, cheerful, and positive attitude, stimulates children's internal motivation to make them more responsible. Through group interactions, martial arts performances, and other methods, it enriches physical exercise with competitive competitions, eliminates sub-health, and cultivates children's sense of competition and honor from an early age. It also tempers children's will through standardized and rigorous management models and specialized training, and provides professional guidance on Emei Martial Arts by inheritors of Emei Martial Arts.

Warm Tips

1. About Photos: Class teachers will upload activity photos and videos to the parent group every day, focusing on two time periods (after lunch and after dinner).

2. About Pocket Money: It is recommended not to bring pocket money.

3. About Making Phone Calls: Children will be arranged to call their parents after evening activities (teachers provide mobile phones). It is not recommended to make calls on the first night to avoid triggering homesickness. Children are not advised to bring their own mobile phones to prevent damage or loss.

4. About Drinking Water: The camp provides special cool and hygienic warm boiled water, placed in multiple areas. Children only need to bring a water cup to fetch water.

5. About Homesick Children: Teachers will accompany and guide them correctly and distract them from homesickness through activities.

6. About ill Children: For serious illnesses, children will be quickly sent to the nearest hospital; for minor illnesses and injuries, they will be treated in the camp infirmary. Oral medications require parental authorization.

7. About Children Who Cannot Bathe or Wash Hair Independently: Counselors will assist very young campers in the bathroom, and hair dryers are provided in the dormitories.

8. About Children Who Cannot Wash Clothes: It is recommended that parents teach their children how to wash clothes once before departure, especially the washing process.

9. About Children Who Cannot Braid Hair: Before breakfast every day, class counselors will help braid hair and teach the children to do it themselves. Since children are prone to losing hair bands, parents are advised to bring several extra.

10. About Luggage Organization: Parents only need to assist. Each camper should prepare a luggage list in their suitcase. Before departure, parents can make an agreement with their children—there will be a reward if nothing is lost when returning.

11. About Labeling Items: To prevent unclaimed lost items, parents should write the child's name on clothing tags, the bottom of water cups, the inside of backpacks, etc., with a waterproof pen. Do not use adhesive stickers as they are easy to fall off.

12. About Agreements with Children Before Departure: Agree on the weakest aspects of the child's life and behavior management, specific to daily matters such as bathing, brushing teeth, crying, fighting, and changing clothes, rather than simply telling them to "be obedient".
